Mini Maritsa-Iztok is the champion of the Sixth Open Field Event of Miners  

Mini Maritsa-Iztok occupied the top at the Sixth Open Field Event of Miners, which was held from September 13th to September 17th, 2017 at Grand Hotel Varna complex and gathered 290 participants. The sports event was organized by Bulgarian Workers’ Federation "Sport and Health" together with the Federation of Independent Miners’ Trade Unions and with the support of Ministry of Youth and Sports in Republic of Bulgaria. It included tournaments in 12 sports - mini-football, beach volleyball, kettlebell lifting, beach wrestling, tug of war, chess, petanque, streetball, table tennis, sports backgammon, bridge, darts.

Mini Maritsa Iztok managed to gather 116 points for the complex ranking while Elatsite Med got 106 points. The third place occupied the team of Asarel Medet with 79 points. The football top was occupied by the team of Asarel Medet, which left the squad of Stara Zagora Municipality second and the MMI team third. Tennis champions became the players of  Asarel Medet while the beach wrestling, kettlebell lifting and bridge were the power of Elatsite Med. Dundee Precious Metals and Gorubso Madan made strong impression in all disciplines as well. The traditionally most dramatic discipline – tug of war materialized again in a victory for Mini Maritsa Iztok. Beach volleyball male champions became the new comer – WSC “Sport and Health“ – Kardzhali while the ladies‘ top was for the Elatsite Med team. The Fairplay cups were presented to the ladies of Gorubso Madan and the men of Dundee Precious Metals.

The Vice-President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria - Mr. Plamen Nankov, the President of Federation of Independent Miners’ Trade Unions - Mr. Valentin Vulchev and Mrs. Desislava Yagodin, the President of Bulgarian Workers' Federation "Sport and Health" and the Vice-President of The International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation handed over the prizes and promised more exciting competitions  in the future Seventh Open Field Event of Miners and also emphasized that not the place will be important but the fact that we will be again together.
