The Fifth National Workers' Orienteering Championship was held for the 5th time


BWF “Sport and Health” held the Fifth National Workers' Orienteering Championship in the area of the balneological health resort Starozagorski Mineralni Bani, near Stara Zagora with the cooperation of Bulgarian Orienteering Federation and in partnership with CITUB - „Mini Maritsa-Iztok“ from November 3rd to November 5th, 2017.

The event gathered 170 participants of 24 sports clubs from 22 towns in the country – Varna, Kozloduy, Dryanovo, Berkovitsa, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Karlovo, Yambol, Ruse, Pazardzhik, Sofia, Kazanlak, Burgas, Gabrovo, Haskovo, Plovdiv, Tvarditsa, Sliven, Sevlievo, Stara Zagora and Radnevo. The Cup of The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria also was held аt the same time and it gathered competitors from 5 to over 85 and whole families of orienteering athletes.

The National Championship‘s participants were divided into 2 men‘s and 2 womens‘ age categories (under and over 45) with individual and team classification for each category. The Sports Medicine Office of Dr. Tarulov‘s team occupied the men‘s top in the under 45 category followed by the members of Expert Vision and Bittel. The ladies of Ideal Standard-Vidima placed 1st in the same age gategory, the team of Mini Maritsa-Iztok became second and Kozloduy NPP – third. In the gathegory over 45 the female and male teams of Mini Maritsa-Iztok grabbed the gold medals. The men‘s second place was occupied by the team of Roboclean – Bulgaria, while third placed the squad of Ideal Standard-Vidima while the silver medals were taken by Kinder Garden Sluntse and the bronze – by SCO Strandzha.

The awards on the Closing ceremony were presented by Mr. Nasko Mitev - President of CITUB - “Mini Maritsa Iztok”), Mr. Georgi Gospodinov - President of Troyanovo 3 Mine, Mr. Tenko Renev - Chief Manager of Recreation Center “Mini Maritsa-Iztok“, Mr. Kostadin Parzulov - Honorary President of BWF “Sport and Health“ and Mr. Kolio Todorov - President of Orienteering Sports Club “Kompas“ - Radnevo.
